I’m still learning new things about Squarespace, so bear with me here while I try to show a painting. Hey, I figured it out! That’s “Slight Hint”, an 18” x 24” acrylic paint on canvas.
Most of the time, I employ a kind of abstract “field” motif or imagery in my paintings, and I have over the past 30 years. Lately, the canvases and panels I’ve been painting have became more refined and more abstract. I’ve been pre-mixing paints in Wallaby Organic Aussie Greek vanilla bean yogurt containers and applying big blocks of color in layers until I arrive at my definition of “done”. When I drive out in the country or on the interstate, the landscape goes by and this is what I think I see. This is how I interpret it.
In addition to quitting podcasting and leaving the music forum, I’m also abandoning an artist’s forum that I’ve contributed to over the past 13 months. It was on Google+, which is being shut down, and the forum is going to LinkedIn. I got rid of LinkedIn years ago for a number of reasons, mostly because everybody on there lies about their work history. I’m not gonna sign back up. Too bad. It was a good group. I liked it. Very constructive.
Now I’ve got the freedom of time to write more here, which is probably how it should be.
