Free MP3: Memory Trigger by Mark Rushton

Memory Trigger
(128MP3, 3.2 MB)

Here's a track I've never really put on a proper album - yet. It has such a nice SomaFM "Groove Salad" feel to it, if you know what I'm talking about. Very laidback rhythms and keyboard sustains. Nice flow and very subtle. I even stuck timpani in a couple of places and it works. If you learn anything from grade school band classes it's when to properly throw in a timpani! From a composition point I'm very proud of this one and I think you will like it too. Very accessible.

New Free MP3: It's Time To Get Green by Mark Rushton

It's Time To Get Green
(192 MP3, 4.3MB)

When musicians do a track with their kids it's usually not a good idea, but this is a really sweet one. It is, really! At the time I created It's Time To Get Green I was listening to a lot of stuff by Minneapolis drummer/Rhodes player Dosh, and he incorporates kid sounds into his music quite well. Some of the voice loops in this piece were actually recorded before I got into Dosh's music and I was sort of waiting around for the right song to place them.
