Four tracks that were outtakes from my
Flow album. This is the first of a
series of "leftover" pieces of music from that time.
When I released the
Flow album in early 2008, I had
nearly 20 different tracks to work with in creating it. In the
end, the album had seven tracks (the final track, "That Was A Different
Life" was actually three tracks stitched together because they worked
well thematically.)
Some tracks didn't make the cut for whatever reason:
unfinished, didn't fit with the theme, was good but would have pushed
the album length beyond where I was comfortable, or was maybe slightly
lesser than the other tracks I had created.
(Now that I've made a few albums, I like to keep the
running time something reasonable: in the 35 to 45 minute
timeframe.)
Some people might think, "Why not create another album out of the outtakes?"
Well, I don't really work that way. I like to give away a lot of
music. If these extra tracks entice you to check out samples of
the
Flow album, and maybe download it via Napster or buy it via CDBaby
or iTunes or AmazonMP3.com, then that's great. If you just go for
the freebees, that's OK too.
If you actually make it to this page and have heard
the podcast, I'd love to hear from you. Email
mark@markrushton.com and let
me know where you are and how you listen to my podcast. Do you
listen on the computer, download tracks and burn them to CD, or put them
on a portable player? Don't worry, I won't put you on any mailing
list, and I may not necessarily reply. I'm just kind of curious
who is listening, where, and how. That's all.
Thanks again for listening to my music.
