Rushton starts off his September 2005 podcast with a short ambient work,
called National Championship, from his latest album,
Hum And Drift.
The second track is a brand-new arranged field recording called
Interference. It contains the arranged multi-tracked sounds of road noise,
bird song, office ambience, radio static, a rainstorm, and a
considerably-altered automobile turn signal.
The third piece is an untitled work-in-progress that has dance, field
recording, and ambient elements.
Ending the podcast are two works - one is original and the other is a remix.
The first of the two is the track Psychometrics from Mark’s 2004 CD release,
The Driver’s Companion.
Immediately following Psychometrics is an 8-minute dance remix Mark created
live, improvisationally, in his basement at the end of August 2005. It
contains some considerably different loops, ambience, and shortwave sounds.
