Ann and Mark's Garden - July 6, 2001
It's been very dry the past 3 to 4 weeks. We've had little to no rain and the lawn is starting to suffer a bit in the usual places.
In early June we had an early visit by some deer. These creatures ate our roses, some aster, geraniums, and munched a bit of our biggest viburnum bush. They haven't returned. No, they didn't get in the fence, thankfully.
The big change recently is that Mark cut the sod around our bushes along the backyard fence line and added landscape fabric and mulch. Hard work, but worth it.

Also added a tiny new lilac to complete this garden. The
goal is to more-or-less obscure the fence/backyard from the street over
time. We have viburnum, burning bushes, and lilac in this area.

By our back door - coneflowers (Echinacea) with a bumble bee -
along with other perennials.

The front walkway has zinnias which are beginning to bud.

Along the back of the house (east side)

Hosta garden on the north side.

Various herb and veggie gardens

Big lillies! Blooming geraniums!

And some bold alyssum.
