Our Gardens - April 28th, part two

East end of our house.  Various perennials coming up.  Hostas (which need to be transplanted), lamb's ear, sedum, tea roses, peonies (another transplant candidate...), and, er, lots of "Charlie".

The back part of our yard used to be the worst section.  When it rained, water would just pool back there.  Thanks to 3 years of work I've thrown a lot of dirt and mulch and excess "junk" back there to build it up.  Last year I transplanted almost all of the ferns that resided where our lily of the valley/bleeding heart/hosta garden now is on the north side of the house.  There is a lot of wild stuff back here (wildflower mix) along with a tremendous amount of creeping charlie.  We hope the grasses, wildflowers, ferns, and hostas planted back here will reduce the Charlie (English Ground Ivy), although digging it out or using a chemical may eventually be necessary.

Radishes, lettuces, onions, etc..

More from the back section - various grasses, wildflowers, charlie, mint...

"The Hosta Garden" is starting to come back.  Note the zillions of Lily Of The Valleys at the top.
