Mark Rushton's Art

Artist Statement

I've been painting since 1989 and focus mainly on non-objective and landscape-style paintings.  I attended the University of Iowa from 1989-1990 and the Kansas City Art Institute from 1991-1993 but left before completing my BFA in painting.  I worked for the Jan Weiner Gallery in Kansas City while at school.

My style has changed a bit over the years, but mostly it is rooted in an earthy, organic impressionism with a touch of abstract.  A sort-of abstract impressionism in landscape
